CASPER, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) - J.R.’s Hunt for Life, a Casper nonprofit suicide prevention and support group is preparing to host the fourth annual Festival of Hope on May 7.

The festival is free to attend. Mental and physical health practitioners will have booths with resources for people of all ages. Therapy dogs and ponies will be at the event, as well as super heroes and princesses to entertain kids.

According to J.R.’s Hunt for Life founder, Jenny Hunter, the community always comes together to make the event successful and to show support for people struggling with thoughts of self harm.

“So our family started it after our son J.R Hunter took his life and we did not know where to go what to do how to live like this so we started J.R’s Hunt for Life nonprofit and we wanted to help other people too because we did not want them to have to live with what we’re living with,” said Hunter.

The Festival of Hope will be held at the Lyric in Downtown Casper from 1 p.m. until 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, May 7.
