Casper-Natrona County International Airport working on entrance road
CASPER, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) - If you are headed to the Casper-Natrona County International Airport, get ready to see some renovations. The terminal isn’t the only part of the airport being updated to better accommodate passengers. Those planning on traveling can see improvements being made outside the airport too.
“So when passengers get to the airport right now they will notice that the entrance road in front of the terminal and parking lot is closed. We have a different roadway to get people out. People can still get in the parking lot. During this whole construction there isn’t going to be a time that people can’t park, that they can’t drop off passengers, that they can’t exit the airport,” said Glenn Januska, the airport director.
Januska says this construction project is necessary to make sure the entrance road remains safe for those traveling. Fixing the entrance road allows the airport to get rid of any trip hazards, such as potholes.
Additional transportation funds gave the airport the extra money it needs to fix the entire roadway loop. The project will be done in phases, and the entire roadway will take over a year to complete.
While the front road is being worked on, only the baggage claim entrance will be open.
“The chance is that you’re going to have to walk further distance to cross to the terminal building and of course walk from the end of the terminal building to the main check in area it’s going to be a little longer,” said Januska.
The first phase of the project should be completed by the end of may.
