CASPER, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) - For the first time, Wyoming Relay is partnering with Relay Colorado and T-Mobile Accessibility to host Deaf Safari Day at the Denver Zoo on Sunday, May 1.

Wyoming Relay is a free service that allows people who are deaf, hard of hearing, and/or deafblind to place and receive phone calls. The organization is excited to provide opportunities for the Wyoming deaf community to engage with one another while enjoying a day at the zoo.

“They have already given out over 500 tickets for this event, that’s Colorado and Wyoming, but that’s a huge amount and so it’s really kind of a neat opportunity for individuals that may be kind of isolated in their community,” said Wy Department of Workforce Services TRS/Deaf Services Manager Lori Cielinski.

Complimentary tickets for Wyoming customers and community members who are deaf or hard of hearing can be reserved through the Wyoming Relay webpage. The safari day will include nine animal talks and demonstrations with ASL interpreters provided.
