Casper College holds wellness conference
CASPER, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) - On April 28-29, Casper College will be hosting a wellness conference that will primarily be open to the public. The conference will cover a multitude of topics including lectures that involve suicide prevention strategies and grief counseling techniques. They also plan to discuss human trafficking and how to run an inclusive practice for transgender and gender non-binary clients.
Although the conference is open to the public it is mostly geared towards medical professionals. The conference allows local doctors, physicians, and psychiatrists to interact and discuss ideas with colleagues.
“Well this is a great opportunity for people who work in health, mental health and wellness to learn from their peers, and then also for people to have an opportunity to present on some of the cool things that they’re learning about,” said Kelly Green who is Casper Colleges wellness counselor.
On Friday afternoon, when the public lectures have been completed, there will be a professional workshop held. This workshop will have those in attendance discussing how they can use creativity to explore ethical decision making.
