CHEYENNE, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) - The Wyoming National Guard is remembering the Spanish American War on the anniversary of its declaration by the U.S. The guard posted an interactive map of Wyoming that allows viewers to see the round about 1,000 Wyoming guard members who were mustered for the war.

In the post, guard officials said “124 years ago today, the United States declared war on Spain. This was the first time that the Wyoming National Guard was federally activated to serve its nation with approximately 1,000 Wyoming infantrymen, artillerymen, and cavalrymen serving during the war. Follow the link below and click on the map icons to learn the names of our Spanish-American War veterans and where they mustered into service.”
