CHEYENNE, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) - The March 2022 issue of the Wyoming MACRO Report is available at the State of Wyoming’s Economic Analysis Division website http://eadiv.state.wy.us/. The MACRO Report is a quarterly publication that consists of charts focusing on employment, energy, state revenues, and other indicators providing an overview of Wyoming’s economy.

Highlights from this quarter’s issue include:

(1) Year-over-year total jobs in the state are up 3.9% (+10,700) in the month of February 2022.

(2) Oil prices in March 2022 are above $100/barrel for the first time since July 2014. Opal Hub natural gas prices averaged $4.42/MMBtu in March 2022, almost $2 higher than a year ago.

(3) Wyoming’s 2021 fourth quarter real GDP increased by 4.6% at an annualized rate from the previous quarter. This increase was less than the Rocky Mountain region and the United States.

(4) State-wide sales & use tax collections through the first nine months of fiscal year 2022 (July 2021-March 2022) are 8.8% higher than they were for the same nine months in fiscal year 2021.

(5) Severance tax collections through the first nine months of fiscal year 2022 (July 2021-March 2022) are 75.5% higher than they were for the same nine months in fiscal year 2021.
