Natrona County’s Kavin Hoff skies high at his home meet

CASPER, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) - The weather was sensational on Friday and Casper, which made it the perfect setting for an outdoor track meet. Short sleeves were even appropriate attire at the Natrona County Invitational.

The Mustangs and Fillies hosted crosstown rivals Kelly Walsh, Lander Valley, Dubois and more schools from around the state to compete in track and field.

Natrona County’s Kavin Hoff, a freshman stole the show. He put on a clinic at the pole vault and was able to sky 13-6.50 in the air, which was more than a foot higher than his next closest competitor.

As he was climbing higher and higher, coaches and teammates made their way over to the area to cheer for him.

“It kind of just helps me get in a mindset,” said Hoff about the support from everyone. “It’s really cool when you’re kind of there. It’s kinda like you’re on cloud nine a little.”

He was certainly doing his best to hang out in the clouds.
