Nice Start to the Week
18 April 2022
CHEYENNE, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) - We started off our week after the holiday weekend on the bright side thanks to much more seasonable temperatures, clear skies and a light breeze. Although, there is another cold front pushing through this week that looks to try and take away these spring conditions from us. Before that happens, tomorrow will have a bit more cloud cover than what we saw today with temperatures reaching much higher. High temperatures in the forecast are getting into the 70s for the southeast and 80s for the Nebraska panhandle. Clouds will continue building throughout the day with isolated rain and snow showers moving into the mountainous regions during the evening. More showers are expected in the cities during the overnight hours tomorrow.
Winds will remain calmer than we have seen with some breezy conditions expected during the afternoon along the I80 corridor. Gusts will get up to 30-40 MPH with the strongest of the gusts projected on Wednesday. It shouldn’t cause any significant delays or partial closures but isolated regions near the mountains are always possible to see stronger gusts.
Overnight tonight, clouds are pushing in from the west allowing for low temperatures to stay warmer than what we typically see this time of year. Lows are ranging from the 30s to 40s with only a few places near the northwest expecting to get below the freezing point. Tomorrow, party cloudy skies are expected with breezy conditions in the south during the afternoon hours. High temperatures will be in the 60s for much of the state with 70s in the southeast and 80s in Nebraska. The far northwestern corner is still going be in the 30s and 40s because the front will hit them first. By Wednesday, temperatures will drop slightly before warming back up by the end of the week.
