CHEYENNE, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) - After a little snowfall and a lot of uncertainty, the Cheyenne Sixers legion baseball team faced an altered schedule for opening weekend. Instead of the two game slate that was originally planned in the Capital City, the team headed west to take on Laramie.

The Sixers first run on the season came by a walk with the bases loaded, setting up a 3 run first inning. Laramie responded back with a run in the bottom of the first, making it 3-1 heading into the second.

Colter McAnelly set the tone in the second inning with a two-run home run, putting Cheyenne on path to a 11-3 win and a 1-0 start on the season.

Next up for the Sixers is a double header on Sunday, when they’ll face Rock Springs and Laramie at Powers Field.
