CHEYENNE, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) - Laramie County School District 1 has a new way to helps students following the introduction of their 24/7 tutoring service.

This new service will allow students help whenever they need it, as well as provide teachers with extra assistance.

“A teacher has 25 kids in the room, and she’s busy helping a couple over on ne side of the room, and kids on the other side of the room are stuck, and they need help right now. Well, if this were done properly, the teacher could have some assistance as well,” said Dr. Steve Newton, the Director of Instruction at LCSD1.

The new tutoring service comes through the school district’s partnership with Paper.

The new partnership can be accessed by any LCSD1 student enrolled in 3rd through 12th grade.

The service was put in place for use at the end of February and hasn’t yet hit the one month mark yet. Within this early window of operation, the school district has already seen a high amount of usage.

“So, we haven’t even been up a month, probably only about three weeks or so, and we already have had over 1,500 live tutoring sessions, and we’ve had over 200 essays reviewed,” said Newton.
