CASPER, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) - The Casper Natrona County Health Department has moved their Covid-19 testing site. In order to avoid long lines and a crowded space, testing has moved from the back alley to a lot across the street.

“The City of Casper has been gracious enough to let us borrow the land for a period of time so that we can offer Covid testing without long lines. We’ve pretty much got the system down so we’re very quick,” said Anna Kinder, the exectuive director of CNCHD.

There are two storage units where testing supplies and vaccine supplies can be kept in one place. They also have a trailer designated for those needing Covid-19 tests for travel. The final trailer is where they will be offering rapid and PCR tests for those in need.

The health department is still operating on a high-risk basis due to limited supplies. Having the space across the street allows the health department to continue their regular operations in the main facility.

“We’re basically kind of moving to the strategy that we’re here when you need us. I think that we offer a whole range of testing options so I think it will make it easier and we won’t block traffic as easily,” said Kinder.

The health department staff says the highest positivity rate right now is among a younger population.
