Cheyenne Regional Medical Center Foundation holds Valentine’s Day fundraiser to provide meals to employees
CHEYENNE, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) - The Cheyenne Regional Medical Center Foundation is celebrating hospital employees through a Valentines Day fundraiser. A limited number of dessert baskets are being sold, and each one provides a catered meal for ten employees.
“The funds raised are going to go to support the people that work at Cheyenne Regional, that are taking care of community members when they come in,” said Foundation Executive Director, Scott Fox. “Whether they are nurses, techs, physicians, housekeepers, facilities folks; you know, we have people doing things every day. We get a lot of questions about how we can actually, we the community, help the people that are those healthcare heroes.”
Fox said the CRMC Foundation focuses on funding specific projects from each donor and fundraiser, whether that be raising funds for cancer services, or improving facilities like the hospice center; however recently, the Foundation has seen an up-tick in community involvement directly toward the health and wellbeing of healthcare personnel.
There are 100 baskets available for $100 dollars each.
The baskets contain sparkling wine, or a non-alcoholic option, desserts, chocolate, fruits and an appetizer. All the proceeds will go directly to employees. Hospital employees will receive catered meals at work with a thank-you card containing the name of the donor.
“We know people like to have something that is fun to help celebrate that time of the year, and what should we have the money go to? We always want to find a very specific thing; because you’re right, people like knowing ‘my donation is going directly to this’,” said Fox.
Fox said community support has been invaluable during the pandemic, and the Foundation aims to have more opportunities for Southeastern Wyoming residents to directly impact local healthcare workers in a positive way.
