Seasonable, For Now
14 January 2022
CHEYENNE, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) - After seeing the return of much more seasonable temperatures alongside a little bit of snow, it doesn’t look to be lasting around for much longer. It seems that as quickly as these winter conditions move through, they leave just as fast. Other than seeing some isolated snow flurries going into the overnight hours, the precipitation will move out alongside the cloud cover. Tomorrow, much of the state can wake up to clear skies and warmer temperatures.
The winds will be dropping off and changing direction too. Today, strong winds from the north were moving through with the front bringing in the arctic air and lowering the wind chill values. Tomorrow, they will be shifting and coming from the southwest, where a lot of the warmer air is allowing for temperatures to increase going into the weekend. Luckily, gusts are not expected to be very strong considering we saw a number of delays and closures thanks to a combination of the wind gusts and icy conditions.
Overnight tonight, temperatures are dropping down to a more seasonable level with decreasing clouds as the cold front moves out. Tomorrow, breezy conditions stay, but the road closures and delays should be limited. Mostly sunny skies will be back and temperatures will increase into the upper 30s and lower 40s throughout the region.
