CHEYENNE, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) - Temperatures are continuing to warm up all around the state, but the snow is still sticking around. Unfortunately, temperatures overnight get below the freezing point allowing for all the melted snow to turn back into ice again. Hopefully, the even warmer temperatures over the next few days should help out with clearing even the most snow ridden areas. Highs continue to be on the climb with 50s in the forecast for a number of cities on Thursday right before the next cool down and round of snow. Clouds are coming back into the forecast as well as the high pressure systems can only hold them away for so long. It’ll also continue to increase as the next cold front from the north brings more moisture into the atmosphere.

If you aren’t a fan of the warmer temperatures, then the wind is partially to blame. Breezy conditions were seen across the central ad eastern side of the state with the winds coming from the southwest. That’s where a lot of the warmer air is, resulting in warmer temperatures. On the other side, the wind is helping to bring down the feels like temperatures, so it is both warming up the region, as well as keeping it cool. At least there are minimal delays across the major highways and interstates from these gusts.

Overnight tonight, breezy conditions will stick around and so will the partly cloudy skies. Lows, of course, will be on the warm side for this time of year, but some eastern cities can expect temperatures to be above the freezing point. Still keep in mind that patchy ice is still an issue and to take it slow if out driving late. Tomorrow, the breeze moves off the the far eastern side of the state with partly cloudy skies again and temperatures reaching the upper 40s and lower 50s for much of the viewing area. We are still tracking out and predicting the cold front coming in for the weekend and will have details regarding it later.
