GLENROCK, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) - The Pine Bluffs boys and girls basketball teams headed up to Glenrock on Friday to each face a pair of opponents. First on the docket were the St. Stephens Eagles.

In the first game, the Lady Hornets made quick work of St. Stephens and doubled them up. They started the day 1-0 with a 62-31 victory.

Then, Stu Lerwick and the boys took the court against the Eagles, and a dunk contest broke out. Lerwick threw down the first jam, and it was St. Stephens’ Jordan Barraza’s turn to respond.

Barraza finished the game with two thunderous dunks as part of his 31 points on the afternoon, but it wasn’t enough. The Hornets finished on top 87-68.

Lerwick finished the first game with 26 points and six rebounds, and his teammate Ryan Fornstrom was also hot from the field. Fornstrom had 29 points and five assists.

In the second set of matchups, Pine Bluffs faced off against Shoshoni. The Lady Hornets kept the train humming.

They were up double digits after the first quarter and cruised to a 64-18 victory over the Lady Blue, and the boys did not want to let that momentum die.

Lerwick kept his solid afternoon going with 23 points and 13 rebounds against the Wranglers, and the Hornets stung Shoshoni in a 65-27 victory.

Both Pine Bluffs teams will take the court again next Friday at home against Southeast.
