LARAMIE, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) - It was a year of repeats and new eras at Laramie High School. Three new head coaches took over programs: Coach Ronga (Football), Terrance Reese (Girls Basketball), and Justine Tydings (Girls Soccer). Also, Volleyball won its second straight state title, Boys Swimming and Diving four-peated at the state championships, and Girls Swimming and Diving has now won five consecutive titles.

LHS Athletic Director Ron Wagner said the goals for 2022 are to continue to build from the ground up with middle school sports participation and also to just give Laramie kids an opportunity to be a part of a team.

“We’re gonna be in the mix in a couple of sports in 2022 for state championships and that is very exciting of course,” said Wagner. “But obviously if we can impact kids in a positive way, give them a place to be creative and to have success and to feel a part of a team and learn use those utilitarian aspects, we’re always gonna push that. We’re always gonna try and do that as much as possible while building our programs and hopefully creating some success.”

Below are some highlights from 2021:

Boys Swimming & Diving: State Champions
