LARAMIE, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) - The help wanted sign has been put up in Laramie. After the announcements by quarterbacks Sean Chambers and Levi Williams, the University of Wyoming football team and Head Coach Craig Bohl released a statement to address the situation.

Bohl’s statement said the team “will address the need to sign a quarterback via the transfer portal or junior college.” He referenced the program’s success using this method with former Cowboy Quarterback Josh Allen.

With the potential departures of Chambers and Williams, the quarterback room in Laramie consists of junior Jayden Clemons and redshirt freshmen Gavin Beerup and Hank Gibbs.

The Pokes also signed three-star quarterback recruit Caden Becker out of Omaha, Neb. to join the team next fall.

The junior college transfer window is currently open and will run through Jan. 15th. The regular transfer portal will remain open.

Previously, Wyoming had been one of the few schools least affected by the transfer portal.

Only Army and Air Force saw as few departures through the portal as the Pokes with two.

Players are allowed to return to their previous school after entering the transfer portal.
