The Last “Warm” Day
CHEYENNE, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) -
This morning was one of the warmest starts to this week. Temperatures this morning were very mild and comfortable. There were a few very light clouds in the sky. There was also a soft breeze, that allowed some movement in the air. As the day has progressed, there have been more clouds moving into the SE corner. Snow showers have been continuing in the NW corner almost everyday this week, it is still continuing to snow this afternoon.
Snow showers will continue to building along the western border throughout the day today. In the SE corner, partly cloudy skies and breezy conditions will be continuing today. This evening and overnight, the built up snow showers along the western border will begin to move throughout the state. In an almost clockwise fashion, the snow showers will rotate from the western border to the southern border of Wyoming. This movement will bring the chance of rain and snow to a broad area of the SW corner of the state, and possibly some may hit Cheyenne. Tomorrow, most of that snow along the southern border will stay to the northern portion of Colorado. The SE corner can expect to have partly cloudy skies and breezy conditions again. That snow system will eventually clear out throughout the evening tomorrow.
With everything that is going on the next couple of days, it is no wonder that there are so many watches, warnings, and advisories. The consistently breezy conditions in the eastern half of the state brings a High Wind Warning, which expires latest at Friday by 2a. The snow and rain system moving through the state tonight and tomorrow has caused a Winter Weather Advisory and a Winter Storm Warning, both expiring by Friday at 6p.
Today is the last day of this week with these incredible above average temperatures. It has been so nice to enjoy the outdoors. High temperatures today are ranging from the lower 30s to the mid-50s once again. Overnight, low temperatures will range from the upper teens to the lower 40s. Tomorrow is where some temperatures across the state are going to be changing. Temperatures tomorrow will range from the lower 30s to the lower 50s, but there will be many less cities under 50 degree temperatures. Temperatures continue to cool into the Christmas weekend.
Merry Christmas everybody! And a Happy New Year!
