Toy Town keeps shelves stocked despite supply chain issues
CASPER, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) - Supply chain issues have caused delays and low stock around the country for many different businesses and industries. One toy store in Casper has done its best to work around these obstacles.
“It’s been a struggle almost all year long, first heard about it in March, and so we adjusted. We had to use different suppliers, we had to pay surcharges but we managed to get the store full for Christmas,” said Toy Town Owner Dalene Lockhart.
Stuffed animals have been one of the hardest items to stock this year for Toy Town. Fidget toys, Barbie dolls, Legos, and puzzles have all been easier to get in and keep stocked.
Finding toys that are available depends on how supply chains communicate to stores. Businesses that have been more communicative have made it easier for stores to adjust and keep their customers informed.
Shoppers have noticed the shift in toy availability, but many are happy that there are other options to choose from. Making sure Toy Town had plenty of toys and games throughout the year, and specifically for Christmas has been a main priority.
“We’ve been working on this whole thing all year long because we were warned through our toy supply people that there was trouble coming,” said Lockhart.
Toy Town will be open in the lead-up to Christmas, but they will have special holiday hours.
