CHEYENNE, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) - Whether you’re pursuing a four-year degree in Accounting, or looking to start your own business, Laramie County Community College Business and Accounting Pathway has a variety of options, offering certifications, Associates and even a Bachelor’s program.

“We offer so many options to students at LCCC because there are so many options of students who are out there. Every student is so unique and has a different goal that we want to meet their needs as well. It is not about having students fit into what we are doing, but being sure that we are offering what students need,” said Pathway Coordinator, Carole Boughton.

The pathway offers programs in Finance, Management, Marketing and Accounting and even offers a four-class certification in Entrepreneurship. Students are also able to transition to a university after two years, with an Advanced Business Standing.

“I feel like I am two steps ahead of other people that are transferring to four-year colleges,” said Marketing student, Anthony Quidachay. “A lot of people that transfer out of community colleges are sometimes behind, and that was really a big stress that I had, but with the opportunities that I had here, and my advisors, and just the way that the pathway is structured, I really feel set ahead going into my Bachelor’s degree program.”

The Bachelors of Applied Science is a unique program in that students don’t have to leave LCCC to receive a four-year degree. The course is offered online, and like most pathway programs it is flexible for non-traditional students.

The Business and Accounting Pathway also allows students to network and explore within each career field.

“I think that was my favorite experience, seeing first-hand and learning from someone directly face-to-face that is in the field that you want to get into, I feel like a lot of community college students don’t get that chance. So me being able to sit down one-on-one with the CEO of a company that I want to get into is pretty cool,” said Quidachay.
