CASPER, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) - While tomorrow is a day that colleges have circled around the country, Kelly Walsh’s Logann Alvar won’t wait around to make her college decision official. The Lady Trojan signed her letter of intent on Tuesday to join the Casper College women’s basketball team next season.

There was hardly an empty seat in the Kelly Walsh team room while Alvar put pen to paper. Alvar will join a women’s team next season that is currently ranked seventeenth in the country.

Alvar said it was a “natural decision” to stay in Casper and hone her hoops game at Casper College.

“I really love the coaches,” said Alvar while surrounded by her family inside Kelly Walsh on Tuesday. “I think they do a great job, and I know that they bring a lot of good players in, so I’m really excited for that.”

Teammates, coaches, friends and family members all filed down to give Alvar hugs and congratulations after she made her pledge official.

Alvar also said she looks forward to reuniting with former AAU teammate and Douglas Bearcat Joslin Igo, who is currently a freshman on the Casper College women’s basketball team.

“She’s a great ballhandler,” said Alvar talking about Igo’s game. “She can really see things that other players can’t, so I’m excited for that.”

Alvar has already established herself this season with Kelly Walsh. She posted excellent numbers over the weekend during the Oil City Tip-off for the Lady Trojans, and she and the rest of the Lady Trojans will return to the court this weekend
