“Santalorian” visits Casper Humane Society
CASPER, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) - Yuri Williams, founder of A Future Superhero and Friends, visited the Casper Humane Society on Dec. 6, dressed as “The Santalorian.” He donated dog and cat food as part of his Hope 4 the Holidays 50 States Blessings Tour.
A Future Superhero began as a way for Williams to overcome the death of his mother, and honor the lessons she taught him, by giving back to the underserved in his community. Since then it has expanded into a nationwide non-profit organization.
“Just him bouncing ideas off each other back and forth every day about just things we can do to help people, you know, and really help my mind and help me focus on life, and be able to help more people,” said Williams.
This is the third year Williams and his friend Rodney Smith are traveling around the United States for their Hope 4 the Holidays Tour. They began the tour on Nov. 26, their first stop was Louisville, KY. Since then, they have visited 19 states, Wyoming was number 18.
Along the tour, they visit children, veterans, first responders, the homeless, and animal shelters to pass out gifts, compassion, and love.
A Future Superhero and Friends is a passion project, he takes time from his job as a corrections officer to spread positivity around the country.
“I gotta get back to work, we don’t, I don’t make anything, you know, this is not my full-time job. I wish it was, but I gotta get back to work,” said Williams.
Williams plans to visit and pass out gifts in all 50 states by Dec. 19.
