CHEYENNE, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) - De-Listing Grizzlies takes one step closer. Two revisions to the Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) updated the population’s estimate number and the commitment to relocate Grizzly Bears.

The MOA will still need approval from Idaho and Montana through their commissions and directors before Wyoming can file a de-listing petition with the U.S. fishing and wildlife service.

“The state has been ready, and has been ready for a long time for the management of bears, so we’re really looking forward to the opportunity to have them under state management once again, " said Sara DiReinzo, Public Information Officer, Wyoming Game and Fish Department.

Grizzly numbers have exceeded endangered numbers in Wyoming, with more than 1,000 bears.
