Cold Start To The Week
CHEYENNE, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) -
Whew! It is chilly today! Sorry, there is no point in sugar coating it. Especially when it smacks you right upside the face the moment you open the door. This cool down from the weekend brought us quickly back to how we are supposed to be feeling this time of the year. Cloud coverage today has been partly to mostly cloudy. There is enough break in the clouds to get that sun shining down. The radar and satellite shows a small snow shower beginning to make its way down to the southern half of the state.
Cloud coverage will be continuing throughout the day today and into the night. As the evening approaches today, there will be snow showers within the mountainous areas of the southern region and along the western border. Into the overnight hours and early tomorrow morning, wind speeds will pick up and the clouds will begin clearing out. Tomorrow is left with partly cloudy conditions.
Temperatures began making their way back to normal over the weekend. Some cities even got to experience some snowfall on Sunday. Today is a very realistic expectation at how December should feel in Wyoming. Clouds are in the sky, temperatures are colder, and it is very dry outside. High temperatures today are mostly in the 30s, with a few cities above and a few below. Low temperatures tonight will be in the teens and 20s. Tomorrow will be just a bit warmer than today. High temperatures tomorrow will be in the 30s and 40s, with a few possible lower 50 degree high temperatures. When it comes to temperatures this week, the peak temperature will happen on Wednesday before falling again. Another round of snow may also be possible by the end of the week.
