Wyoming students learning life lessons through robotics

CASPER, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) - The Ford Wyoming Center was filled with talented students across the state on Saturday at the FIRST LEGO League Challenge Wyoming Championship.

The program has been around for almost 15 years and give students an opportunity to explore stem in a different way. 36 teams brought their robots to the mats today to complete different missions. This year’s theme is Cargo Connect. Students learn how items are transported and delivered to others. The program promotes community relationships, giving students the chance to meet those who work in the industry to better understand the technology.

“I’m so impressed at the ideas that come out of these kids. These are very adult issues. These are things that we’re dealing wi6th right now in this country and around the world, and the fact that they are looking at these problems and they’re coming up with their own solutions is just fantastic,” said Cyndee Guthmiller the FIRST Partner for Wyoming Robotics.

This is the first in-persons event hosted by the organization since the pandemic began.
