CHEYENNE, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) - Happy December everyone! The reason I’m saying that is because it certainly does not feel like December given the weather. Today, across much of the Cowboy State, we hit new record high temperatures all across the region. The capital city was spared as we were just one degree below from tying the record, but other cities in the central regions, the southeast, and even in the Nebraska panhandle. I want to say that this will just be one and done, but that is not the case as temperatures are expected to be even hotter around the state tomorrow. At least cloud cover will be minimal for much of the region resulting in nice sky conditions. This also means that the sun will have the chance to heat us up quickly.

Winds were the once saving grace today making it feel cooler outside. Tomorrow, I wouldn’t rely on it as much considering the strongest gusts will move out to the central areas with gusts only reaching about 30 MPH. Enough that it’ll be a nice breeze, but not so strong that it’ll be dangerous working outside or result in numerous highway and interstate delays.

Tonight, thanks to the heat of the day, it’ll take a bit to cool off. Because of that, temperatures will above average with lows in the 40s and 50s. Keep in mind, we are supposed to be in the 10s and 20s this time of year. Tomorrow, not a lot of cloud cover and highs ranging from the 40s out to the far west to the 70s in the southeastern corner. If we can just hang in there for the rest of this week, a cold front looks to be coming through around Sunday with a number of cities expecting some snow by Tuesday. The models are still far out on that, but it gives us that hope.
