CHEYENNE, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) - Hanukkah festivities kicked off at the Capitol on Dec. 1st, with a Menorah lighting ceremony.

“Its a fantastic celebration that brings together people of all backgrounds and all faiths for a gathering of unity, light, warmth, and the story of the jewish celebration of Hanukkah, ”said Rabbi Chabad Zalman Mendelsohn.

Wednesday marked the second day of Hanukkah.

Governor Mark Gordon, elected leaders and the Jewish community gathered today to celebrate the season.

Hanukkah treats were served, as a small ensemble played music.

This celebration lasts for 8 days and symbolizes the Jewish tradition, freedom, faith, and miracles.

“Today’s day and age, it’s the story of each and every human being finding their inner light. The light of their own Menorah to shine forth through the rest of the world,” said Mendelsohn.

This is the 14th annual Hanukkah celebration at the Capitol with the governors.

Shalom and Hanukkah Sameach.
