CHEYENNE, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) - Those unseasonably warm temperatures look to be back in Cowboy state once again and are planning to stick with us throughout much of this week. Today, lots of upper 50s and lower 60s stretched across the region with Casper getting just one degree away from the record high. The strong winds across much of the southeast and central areas helped to make it feel a little bit cooler outside. Although, just like the heat, those winds don’t look to be going anywhere for much of the week. Starting off tomorrow morning, wind gusts will reach up to 50 MPH in some places and slowly calm down going into the later parts of the day and evening hours. Don’t be surprised if some of the interstates and highways have partial road closures and delays as a result.

The good news is there looks to be very few cloud cover for much of the state. Precipitation chances are next to none expect for the far northern border of the state. This is nice if you want to spend some time outside, but not so good given our drought situation has not improved at all. I’m keeping my eyes on the models, but no significant weather systems look to be impacting us for the next days.

Tonight, just as we saw a warm day, expect a warm night too. Temperatures will be in the mid 40s for the east and the mid 20s for the west. Winds will die down and skies will remain mostly clear. Tomorrow, much of the same with the possibility of even hotter temperatures as the Nebraska panhandle looks to be getting near the 70 degree mark. I will keep an eye out to see if we anywhere hits new record high heat. Just expect these warm conditions to last for much of the week.
