Casper couple sell home made honey
CASPER, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) - A local couple has started selling honey from their home. All of the honey is made in their back yard.
The Bulows have been keeping bees almost as long as it has been legal in Casper.
“Well, our bees make the honey, I don’t make the honey, I steal it from them. Not all of it, but we steal their honey from them, and... I think this is our fifth winter that we’re over wintering our bees,” said Christine Bulow.
Due to COVID-19 concerns, they did not host their booth at the local farmer’s market this year. A friend sold some honey for the couple once this summer, but otherwise they stored the honey.
They decided with Thanksgiving and Christmas coming up they would try to sell the honey from home.
“I put it out on Facebook and on the Next Door app and we have had a flurry of people coming in to get our honey for gifts or for their own Thanksgiving tables so we’re really thrilled about that I’m glad we kept it,” said Bulow.
The entire bee keeping process is done at their home. Bees are kept in the backyard, and honey extraction and storage is in the basement.
