CASPER, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) - Central Wyoming Hospice and Transitions is hosting two free grief support groups for health care workers.

“We noticed that a lot of the symptoms that this stress has put on the health care workers are related to or have similar symptoms to the grief that one might experience and so we are providing care for that,” said Grief Care Coordinator Todd von Gunten.

The groups will meet once a week for three weeks. During the hour and a half-long sessions health care workers will have a space to support one another, talk about how health care has changed because of COVID-19, and receive resources and ways to respond to their experiences.

The support group was designed to help health care employees overcome feelings of grief and stress that have risen from the pressures of supporting others through a pandemic.

“Their own personal experiences have been challenged by their work in the health care field so each person is going to have to address it uniquely,” said von Gunten.

The groups will be offered on Tuesdays beginning Nov. 30 until Dec. 16 from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. or on Thursdays beginning Dec. 2 until Dec. 16.

For more information about the group or other group or individual grief support call 307-577-4832 and ask for Todd.
