It Is Going To Get Chilly
But Only For A Little Bit
CHEYENNE, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) -
Clouds just keep pouring in from the West today. Along with the clouds this morning, rain and snow showers were building along the western border. Those showers have now slightly dissipated and begun moving East. The precipitation from these showers will be light. Clouds are going to keep moving in from the West and pushing to the East before moving out of state.
The cloud coverage today is going to continue being partly to mostly cloudy throughout the afternoon and evening. Overnight, the wind speeds will calm down slightly. Tomorrow morning, there will be a few left over clouds. As the day continues though, the rest of the cloud coverage will push off to the southeast. This will leave the Cowboy State with clear skies for the rest of the Wednesday.
Wind speeds are blowing quite fast this afternoon. Very few cities within Wyoming are under 20 mph, when it comes to the speeds of the winds. Some of the fastest wind speeds are found in the SE corner. With these fast speeds, there is a broad area of the state under High Wind Warnings again today. These warnings will continue until Tuesday at 5PM (tonight).
In the most southeastern corner of Wyoming, there is also a Fire Weather Warning. Due to the above average temperatures and faster wind speeds, there is risk of a fire starting up. This Fire Weather Warning will continue until Tuesday at 5PM (tonight).
High temperatures today are in a wide range. The state is ranging in temperatures of 30s and 40s in the NW corner to the mid-60 degree temperatures in the SE corner. Tonight, low temperatures will range from 8 degrees in Yellowstone NP to 28 degrees in Torrington. Tomorrow’s high temperature will not warm up that much. High temperatures will be in the 20s and 30s, as this cold front quickly pushes through the state. These colder temperatures will not last long, temperatures will warm back up by the end of the week.
