Warm Start To The Week
A Quick Cool Down On The Way
CHEYENNE, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) -
The state today is covered in a broad area of cloud coverage. This week is basically just a continuation of what was seen at the end of last week. There are lots of clouds and the winds are continuing to be breezy. There is a heavy amount of cloud coverage this afternoon in the center of the state.
Cloud coverage does not look like it is going away any time soon. Partly cloudy skies will continue through the day today and tomorrow. The wind speeds will also be sticking around, though overnight tonight, the speeds will reduce significantly. Tomorrow, the winds will return.
All of these fast wind speeds have brought High Wind Watches and Warnings to a majority of the state today. The High Wind Warnings in the SE corner will either expire tonight (Monday) at 5PM or Tuesday at 5PM. Most of the High Wind Watches will not expire until Tuesday at 5PM. With these winds continuing to blow, there is a likely chance that they will be extended.
After a weekend of warmer temperatures and continued wind speeds, there is a Fire Weather Warning back in the SE corner. The Fire Weather Warning is going to continue through tonight (Monday) at 6PM.
High temperatures today are ranging from the mid-40s to the mid-70s. Yellowstone NP is the coolest spot in state today, while the SE corner is seeing temperatures in the mid-70s. Tonight, temperatures will range from the 30s to lower 50s in random cities. Tomorrow’s high temperatures will also have a wide range. With a cold front moving through tomorrow, high temperatures will range from the 30s in the NW to the mid-60s in the SE. Wednesday brings cold temperatures back across the state.
