Weekend Warm Up
12 November 2021
CHEYENNE, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) - Despite the strong winds staying in the eastern and southern regions of the state, temperatures began warming up all around reaching into the 50s. Clouds were sticking around, but the strong gusts are helping to move a lot of it out to the east. There is the chance for some isolated snow showers in the mountains out to the northwest tomorrow, and also some scattered showers moving across the northeast tomorrow afternoon. Beyond that, much of the moisture will move quickly through the state with the help of the breezy conditions.
Speaking of the breeze, just like today, it’ll stay in the eastern and southern parts of the state giving the rest a break. Gusts will be as strong as they were yesterday. They will be around 40-50 MPH throughout the day and night for the next several days. I would personally put off any outdoor activity that involves climbing or loose objects that could get caught by the wind and turn into flying debris.
Tonight, temperatures will be on the warm side for this time of year. This is due to the increase in cloud cover and the winds bringing some of the warmer air from the west. A number of cites as a matter of fact will be staying above the freezing point, almost opposite of what we saw last night. Tomorrow, windy conditions are staying in the regions I mentioned earlier but with even warmer temperatures. Highs during the afternoon will be reaching the mid to upper 50s. It’ll be nice of course, but certainly on the warm side for this time of year. Temperatures will continue to rise going into the early parts of next week where the 60s are possible. That is, at least until another cold front comes through by the middle of next week.
