LARAMIE, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) - Laramie Volleyball won its second consecutive state championship this weekend in Casper. At the center of the Lady Plainsmen squad is the Stucky family.

Jill Stucky is the head coach and her daughters, Alexis and Maddy, are two stars on the team.

“We’re really about competing in our house,” said Maddy. Even like every day little things like, ‘oh who can go get the mail the fastest’, ‘who can sweep the floors the fastest’. It’s just everything’s a competition and that’s just how we enjoy our life.”

Alexis is a senior that will play volleyball at the University of Florida and Maddy is a sophomore that shows horses in addition to playing volleyball. The sisters teamed up for the final point of the 4A state title game, decisively sweeping Kelly Walsh 3-0.

“It’s really cool [to play with my sister]. I mean there’s a special kind of trust and we always know we can go at each other,” said Alexis Stucky. “There’s always little sister bickering but she’s someone I can trust and she’s someone I love to play with because we really just understand each other.”

Congratulations and best of luck on the road ahead to Alexis and Maddy Stucky, Wyoming News Now Prep Athletes of the Week.
