Warm and Windy
5 November 2021
CHEYENNE, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) - Those warmer temperatures were sticking around for much of the state and it looks like they will continue over the weekend. The cold front has dissipated over the region and we are seeing some slightly cooler temperatures out to the northwest where they also some scattered rain and snow showers last night. Other than that, there is next to no sign around the rest of the state that indicates a cold front passed through. The biggest thing we noticed is the strong wind gusts coming from the west. Windy conditions are mostly sticking to the central and southeastern regions of the state but some other cities and still see some breezy conditions. Gusts today and tomorrow will continue between 30-40 MPH.
In terms of future weather, there is another cold front coming from the northwest. This one is expected to be a lot stronger than the one we saw move through today. With these above average temperatures we have been seeing lately, it is going to take a strong front like this to cool us back down. Temperatures will drop down to seasonable or even below seasonable conditions. It will also help to bring in some more moisture in our area with some snow in the northern half of the state during the evening time and rain showers during the day. I will be sure to release any kind of snow estimates closer to when the storms comes through on social media.
Tonight, just like last night, those temperatures will stay on the warm side with some party cloudy skies. Winds should be calming down too, but then pick back up going into the day. Tomorrow, another warm one across much of the state. Party cloudy skies are expected with some cooler temperatures out to the west. It’ll take that new front to come through early next before we cool down again.
