CHEYENNE, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) - This is certainly not the ideal forecast for a holiday that is primarily based outside. Cold, cloudy and wet conditions are expected to continue into the overnight hour with and inch to two inches of snow likely starting this evening. The heaviest snow looks to take place tonight between midnight and 6am. As a result, I suggest finishing up the holiday festivities early as driving conditions will not be ideal.

With all the rain we had take place during the day, I suspect we will be dealing with patchy ice. On top of that, there will be freezing fog too so visibility will suffer. Good news is that the wind doesn’t look to be too bad so I don’t see too many of the interstates closing due to blowing snow or high wind gusts. It is still a good idea to give yourself some extra time when driving to work tomorrow morning as that is when most of the snow will be around and still falling.

Tonight looks to be a cold one for the holiday. There is a slight chance of snow throughout the evening with the wind chills down in the 20s. It might be ideal to layer up underneath your costume if you plan on being outside for any extended period of time. Lows tonight will be below freezing for much of the state with lots of mid to high 20s. Tomorrow is not expected to be much warmer than today with highs around the state in the 30s and 40s. Precipitation will continue into Tuesday with rain during the day and snow in the late evening and early morning. Good thing that accumulation numbers are low. It has been too warm lately for much of the snow to stick.
