CHEYENNE, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) - The cold front has finally passed through the whole state taking the majority of moisture along with it. What it ended up leaving behind was that strong Wyoming wind. This time, coming from the north keeping temperatures cool throughout the state. Gusts are getting up to 50 MPH in some locations and even causing traffic delays on the highways and interstate all around. It looks like the windy conditions will be sticking around for the next day too, but luckily not as strong as we are seeing today. Be sure to give yourself some extra time when driving as there is a lot of loose debris on the roads like tree branches and tumbleweeds.

Besides the wind, conditions were nice today with only some snow in the mountains out to the far western regions. Party cloudy skies are looking to continue over the next few days with no significant rainfall until the weekend. Temperatures will be gradually warming up too until then. Coming around to Halloween, it looks like we have another strong cold front making it’s way through. This one will bring a blast of cold air with the possibility of snow on Sunday and Monday. It is still too far out in the forecast for accurate estimates so we will just keep our eyes on it.

Tonight, temperatures will stay on the cooler side with that wind continuing to whip around. Some places can see temperatures drop below the freezing point, which is right about average for this time of year. There is no need to worry about patchy ice unless you are traveling in the mountainous regions. Tomorrow, winds will continue, but on the breezier side rather than the windier side. Temperatures will be warming up a little bit more compared to today with highs around the 50s for much of the state. We will continue to keep an eye on the upcoming system and let you know if you need to bring a jacket with your Halloween costume.
