CASPER, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) - With the holiday season right around the corner, the Wyoming Rescue Mission is preparing to see more people using their services.

“The Wyoming elements of the outside are a little brutal. A lot more people tend to come to us to seek safe shelter, hot food, and warm beds,” said Jenny Stedillie, the Marketing and Events coordinator for Wyoming Rescue Mission.

The mission works hard year-round to provide a welcoming atmosphere, but put a lot of effort into the winter months especially. Staff at WRM strive to make sure residents have a loving and supportive environment during the holiday season by providing special dinners, gift giving, and fellowship. The mission is currently in need of winter items, including hats, gloves, scarves, coats, and socks.

“You would not believe the difference a new pair of socks, a warm pair of socks, makes to a homeless person. It blew me away when I first saw the first pair given away to somebody. It was very humbling the difference a pair of socks makes,” said Stedillie.

The Wyoming Rescue Missions thanks the community for all the support so far as they prepare for the next few months.
