Woman shovels snow for any price named
CASPER, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) - Leena Reyes posted on Facebook offering to remove snow from Casper resident’s driveways. The post stated that those requesting services named their own price for the shoveling.
“If you let other people let you know what they want to pay they feel like they’re in control. If they want to pay us five dollars then we’ll do it for five bucks. If they want to pay us more, then we’ll leave it up to them,” Reyes said about the name your price idea.
Reyes, along with her boyfriend manually shoveled driveways from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. on Oct. 13. In the five hours they worked, they shoveled the driveways of five houses.
“I don’t think I could’ve done more. The snow is heavy. We tried to do the best job we could,” Reyes said.
Reyes approximates that 22 people reached out to ask for help with snow removal. When she realized they would not all get their requests filled, she reached out to let them know. A few asked if she would come Oct. 14, Reyes was happy to help.
“It worked out so awesome. Our community is just really cool. They really helped out,” Reyes said.
The money Reyes earned from clearing snow is going to help cover costs of her son’s birthday and daughter’s singing lessons.
