CHEYENNE, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) - On Tuesday, October 12, 2021, Sabrina Lane with Wyoming 2-1-1 joined Wyoming News Now to talk about the organization. Wyoming 2-1-1 is a comprehensive, statewide provider of information and referral for Wyomingites.

Wyoming 2-1-1 is an easy-to-remember, free helpline for people looking for community services and resources. It can help people looking for essential services like food, shelter, counseling, and employment assistance. Wyoming 2-1-1 said the phones are staffed by trained Information and Referral Specialists who quickly assess the caller’s needs and refer them to the help they seek.

In Laramie County, the Thankful Thursdays fundraiser helps give organizations a chance to raise money to help with their work in the community. Thankful Thursday will help Wyoming 2-1-1 on Thursday, October 21, 2021. It will happen at the AmVets Post 10, 3839 E. Lincolnway, Cheyenne, Wyoming. Doors open at 4 p.m.

Wyoming 2-1-1 will also collaborate with two other Laramie County organizations. Needs, Inc. and PEEPS will also benefit on October 21st. Wyoming 2-1-1 wants people to bring a canned good, like corn or green beans. You can also bring things like peanut butter, cereal, and pasta. These items will help Needs, Inc. provide food to those who need it.

PEEPS helps to support students in Laramie County. In order to support the work it’s doing, Wyoming 2-1-1 asks that you bring new coats and shoes for students.

You don’t have to pay to get in, but you can get food and drinks with a small donation. Raffle tickets and a punch box will be for sale. You can also bid on auction items.

All of the proceeds from the auction, games, and raffles will go directly to the operations of Wyoming 2-1-1 and will be used to help sustain and expand the services of our organization. We are hoping to raise $15,000 from this event!
