CHEYENNE, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) - The Children’s Museum of Cheyenne Foundation has been a work in progress and finally seems to be moving forward.

“What we’re most excited about is being able to serve children in our community and being a place for informal education and play and one of the ways of experiencing the children’s museum is through the hands-on interactive experiences that children will have,” said Caroline Veit, President of the Board for the Children’s Museum of Cheyenne.

Thanks to a 50-thousand dollars grant the children’s museum recently received from the joint powers board.

The first phase of this project started to move forward at the beginning of this year, and the construction documents have been submitted to the city for a plan review.

The museum hopes to educate children through STREAM (Science, Tech, Reading/Relationships, Engineering, Art and Math learning.

The location will serve as an anchor between the downtown and the west edge.

“Taking care of our future generation is going to make Cheyenne an even better place to live and it’s going to bring and keep talent here.

The board consists of community volunteers and updates on the museum’s progress will be posted here.
