Here Comes The Cooler Weather
CHEYENNE, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) -
Clear skies started off this morning, but as the day has progressed more clouds have moved in. Another round of clouds and showers were forming off of the western border this morning. This system is beginning to push East and Northeast across Wyoming.
Once this system of clouds reach the southeastern corner, those clouds will stick around overnight. Overnight, there is also a chance of some scattered showers across the southern half of the state. Early tomorrow morning, the system will push to the North. More clouds will replace those by tomorrow afternoon. Showers will continue along the western border and northwestern corner.
Smoke is heaviest in a pocket between Jackson and Riverton. Overnight, the heavy smoke pocket will move North between Jackson and Yellowstone NP. Friday afternoon, light smoke conditions will return to the southeastern corner. By Saturday, a lot of the smoke in state will clear out with help from this first cold front that will move through Wyoming.
Today is the turn in temperatures. Beginning today, temperatures will start cooling off quickly as the weekend approaches. Today’s high temperatures are in the 60s and 70s. Tonight, the low temperatures will cool into the 30s in the northwestern corner and 40s throughout the rest of the state. Tomorrow’s temperatures will be in the 60s and 70s again, like today. Another cold front will move through the middle of next week, and this second front will bring a cold snap to the Mountain West.
