Cyber Security conference starts Oct. 6th through 8th
CHEYENNE, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) - Cyber Wyoming is holding a security conference Wednesday, Oct. 6th through 8th.
“We need to make sure we’re a little bit more critical thinkers when we’re on line, that we read and we research. The second thing is the league of women voters every year, or maybe every couple of year puts out a media bias chart. So, try to read your media, have your media sources be in the middle of that chart,” said Laura Baker, President of Cyber Wyoming Alliance.
The Governor is opening the conference with a recorded welcome message. Gordon will speak on cyber security in the state and the perils of not being prepared and protected in our new technological age.
The conference will focus on how you can protect yourself and your community against misinformation.
And attendees will also be looking at civics and our responsibilities online. Local law enforcement will educate the public on online fraud.
“What are our own personal risk factors that make us click? Which provides us with an opportunity to do a little introspection and find out you know I might be Laura when I’m talking to you but online maybe I need to be a little bit more of a suspicious person,” said Baker.
On the final day, they will announce the Cyber Small Business award. For more information on the conference, click here.
