Heading Towards Cool Temperatures
CHEYENNE, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) -
Our weather conditions are continuing on a great trend! Sunny skies are sticking around with a few more clouds today. This morning was a little chilly, but as the sun came up things got a bit warmer.
Clouds are going to continue rolling in from the southwest. Overnight, the clouds will lighten up just slightly before tomorrow. Tomorrow morning, clouds will stick around. But with the clouds, there will also be showers associated with them in the West. Going through to tomorrow evening, showers will begin to make there way to the southern border and across to the eastern half before pushing out of state Wednesday night.
There is a heavier pocket of smoke over Sheridan and Gillette today. That smoke pocket will move to the North overnight. Most of the state will be clear of smoky conditions on Wednesday. The most southeastern and northwestern corner will have some smoke. Thursday morning, that heavy smoke pocket from today will make a return to Sheridan and Gillette.
With the slightly warmer temperatures over the past couple of days and breezy conditions, there is an Elevated Fire Risk set along two of Wyoming’s borders. Both the northern and eastern border are within this Elevated Fire Risk today. Luckily, there are no set watches, warnings, or advisories set in state today.
Temperatures today are much like yesterday’s. High temperatures are in the 70s and 80s across the state today. Overnight, temperatures will not cool as much as they have been the past several days. Low temperatures tonight will cool into the 40s and 50s. Tomorrow, temperatures will begin cooling down slightly. Statewide high temperatures will have more 60 degree temperatures. In the eastern half, high temperatures will be mostly in the 70s with 80s in the northeast.
