CHEYENNE, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) - Temperatures across the state today stayed nice and cool thanks to the cold front passing through. It also brought a lot of showers and storms that we saw yesterday with it too, so we just saw mostly clear skies to the north and those clouds sticking around to the south. The smoke is staying calm too with only the northwestern corner under an air quality alert due to a local fire. Forecast models show it is going to remain as such over the next day with just some light haze scattered around Wyoming.

Not a whole lot else going on in terms of weather. There is the cloud cover sticking around the southern regions of the state, and as a result, we will be seeing slightly cooler temperatures in comparison. Our surface map is only showing the cold front that just went through leaving those clouds around. There is another frontal system on the way from the Washington area, but it is very weak and will only bring some increased clouds cover to the northwest before dissipating by Saturday morning.

Tonight, temperatures will drop down to about what we saw last night. Mostly 20s and 30s around the state. The biggest difference is that there is a frost advisory for the southeastern corner of the state, so if you have any delicate plants, be sure to cover them up tonight or bring them inside. Tomorrow, expect very nice conditions as well with temperatures increasing. Highs are expected to be in the upper 60s and lower 70s for the major cities. Going into this weekend, this trend will continue with mostly clear skies as well as increasing temperatures, but nothing hotter than those lower 80s in some places.
