CASPER, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) - The Wyoming News Now Game of the Week hits the road this week. The Natrona County Mustangs are on the road to face the Sheridan Broncs.

It’s a matchup of two top-five teams at the 4A level that are both coming off close losses last Friday.

The Mustangs were unable to knock off Rock Springs on the road in a 17-14 loss, and the Broncs fell 24-21 at East.

Natrona County Cornerback Roman Overstreet said the word of the week for the Mustangs has been “focus.”

“We gotta focus on doing all of the little stuff Friday, and the big things will take care of [themselves],” said Overstreet. “Really focusing on penalties. We were struggling with a lot of penalties recently. Really gotta focus and keep that down to a minimum.”

The Mustangs have committed 38 penalties over their last three games.

Natrona County’s rival Kelly Walsh will also hit the road. The Trojans are headed to Thunder Basin to try and spoil the Bolts’ homecoming.

Trojan Middle Linebacker Sam Neville said he’s excited about the trip. “They beat us in the playoffs. Nothing’s better than revenge except for revenge on their homecoming. It’ll be a fun game.”

Then, there’s a trio of exciting games in the southeast corner of the state.

East will head to South for a Capitol City showdown. The Bison are looking to beat the T-Birds for the second time in school history.

On the other side of Cheyenne, Central welcomes Campbell County. The Tribe will be looking to continue its momentum after picking up its first victory of the season last week over South in a 38-0 shutout.

Plus, there’s a potential barnburner at the 1A 9-man level between the top two teams. Pine Bluffs welcomes Shoshoni with the number one ranking on the line.

We’ll have highlights and scores from games from across the state during Friday Night Frenzy.
