CASPER, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) - Fort Caspar Academy is partnering with community organizations for their annual Charger Challenge.

“Every month, we have a different virtue that we share with the kids and just talking about it is one thing but being able to walk it with the kids and share that experience, that’s great value,” said Shelly Rice, a 3rd grade teacher at the school.

Staff, students, and community members are working hard putting together the traditional event. Last year’s Charge Challenge was cancelled due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Staff at Fort Caspar Academy says they are excited to come together for the pancakes, obstacle courses, and raffles...but the best part is coming together to raise money for a local charity. This year’s proceeds will be donated to the Youth Crisis Center.

Rice says having this event allows students to see that even a small act of kindness can make a huge difference in someone’s life.

“I feel honored that I get to be a part of that because it’s such a huge thing at Fort Caspar and there’s just something that is there to show that we can show our virtues,” said Jovi Lamb, a 5th grade student.

The Charger Challenge starts Saturday morning at nine at Fort Caspar Elementary.
