Food Bank of Wyoming distributing evergreen boxes
EVANSVILLE, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) - The Food Bank of Wyoming is serving the community with their evergreen box program.
This supplemental food program allows for adults over the age of 60 to apply to get a monthly box full of shelf stable food items delivered to their home. This partnership with the USDA and the Wyoming Department of Family Services is an income-based program. Food Bank of Wyoming hopes this allows those who are unable to access specific services get the food resources they need.
“It’s a big deal. It helps us unite as a community to know that we’re all looking out for each other, but I think it also, just on a personal note for me, helps me feel like I can make a difference in the lives of the people who really need it,” said Samantha Maxwell, the programs representative.
If you or someone you know is interested in receiving an evergreen box and want to know if you qualify, Food Bank of Wyoming can help you fill out an application.
The program currently feeds 180 residents.
