Another Warm Day
CHEYENNE, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) -
Lots of clear and sunny skies can be seen today. This morning started off on the chilly side, but is quickly warming up. It is going to be warmer today, but a cool down is once again on the way.
Clouds will begin moving in from the west and south this evening. These clouds will continue moving in throughout the overnight hours and further into tomorrow afternoon. The clouds will also bring a chance of rain for the western half of the state tomorrow afternoon and the northern half tomorrow evening. However, scattered showers will be seen throughout the state.
Heavy smoke is being seen across the state again today. Moderately heavy smoke is maintaining in the southern half of the state. By Tuesday afternoon, Rawlins will experience some of the heaviest smoke Wyoming has seen in over a week. Smoke conditions will stick around even into Wednesday.
There is an Elevated Fire Risk in the northeastern corner of the state today. It is also coupled with a Critical Fire Risk in the most northeastern portion of the northeastern corner.
Along with the Fire Risk in the northeastern corner, there is also a Fire Weather Watch. This watch is going to stay in effect until Tuesday night at 7PM. There are also a few areas of Air Quality Warnings. One of these areas of warning is just to the south of Riverton, and the warning is in effect until Monday at 1PM. The other Air Quality Warning is in the most southwestern corner. This area of the warning is in effect until Tuesday at 12:15PM.
Temperatures across the state today are in the 80s. Higher 80 degree temperatures and lower 90s are found in the northeastern corner and along the eastern border today. Tonight, the temperatures will cool mostly into the 40s and 50s. Temperatures tomorrow will be about the same as today, maybe a bit cooler. High temperatures tomorrow will be in the 70s and 80s statewide. A big drop in temperatures this week is on its way.
