The Wyoming Department Workforce Service hold virtual Townhall Meeting for training grants
CHEYENNE, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) - The Department of Workforce Services (D.W.F.S.) held a virtual town hall meeting Wednesday.
They shared information on development grants for pre-hires, apprentices, interns, and up-skill training for new workers and employees.
The business training grants cover tuition, registration, class materials, fees, and some travel expenses for classes.
Some grants are re-reimbursement-based, meaning employers are paid back for investing in their employees or new hires.
Business training grants can fund up to 1,500 dollars in preferred industries training.
Commercial Drivers Licenses or CDL training for pre-hires can also be paid through grant funds to help employees and employers.
“The business training grants do a great job of helping both the business and the employees. We have quite a bit of money in those grant programs that we can share with those businesses and help get folks trained and up-skilled,” said Ty Stockton, Communications Officer for D.W.F.S.
The meeting will be recorded and will be accessible on-demand for viewing to the public.
